EMERGENCY TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF YEOVIL ROAD, HALSTOCK DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section…
Better Broadband could be yours
Dorset Council, in partnership with Openreach, has been rolling out full-fibre broadband to around 3,000 premises across rural areas in the county.
You can find out if you are in one of the areas to get full-fibre to the premises (FTTP) by going to www.mapping.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/suerfast/Checker
If you are one of the lucky ones to now have FTTP, the uplift in speed does not happen automatically. To benefit from this new ultra-fast technology you will need to contact your internet service provider to see if you can upgrade to a faster speed.
Not all internet service providers have FTTP packages, so you may need to consider switching to one that does when your current contract expires.
Don’t have FTTP but would still like to improve your broadband?
There are government subsidy programmes that can help residents and businesses in rural areas improve their broadband. For more information and advice email connectingdorset@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
