TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT NOTICE OF A356, CHEDINGTON
DORSET COUNCIL has made a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 23 July 2024 between 0900 and 1600 and remain in force
for five days, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 25 July 2024.
This Notice will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.
The effect of this Notice is as follows:
[1] To impose a temporary road closure on A356, CHEDINGTON between its junction with Chedington Lane and Winyards Gap Inn, a distance of approximately 750 metres.
[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along A356, CHEDINGTON between its junction with Chedington Lane and Winyards Gap Inn, a distance of approximately 750 metres.
[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting on the highway along A356, CHEDINGTON between its junction with Chedington Lane and Winyards Gap Inn, a distance of approximately 750 metres.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
