Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean

April 1 - April 2

Jon Pentreath –
After the incredible efforts to clear up our lanes last March, you’ll be pleased (?!) to hear that the time is rapidly approaching when I believe we should do it again…
The dates that we have set for this year’s litter pick are 1st and 2nd April – please put the dates in your diaries.  The format will be very similar to last year – I will divide the roads up into roughly 1/2 mile sections and ask you to volunteer for sections as you are able – I think it worked well last year.  The dates tie in with the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean campaign (https://www.keepbritaintidy.org) and also Litter Free Dorset’s spring campaigns (https://www.litterfreedorset.co.uk/projects-campaigns/roadside-litter/).
The most exciting thing is that we have expanded from just Corscombe and Halstock and are now covering pretty much all of the villages between us and the A37/A356 as well as some others beyond.  We have co-ordinators doing the same as me in Cattistock, Evershot, Maiden Newton and a number of the smaller villages – but are still short of people in Wraxall, Rampisham, Benville, and E & W Chelborough – so if you know of people who might want to help co-ordinate efforts then please put me in touch.
Apart from noting the date, could you please let me know asap whether you are able and keen to help out again this year, and if so whether likely on 1st or 2nd April or both days?  And please please please spread the word to your neighbours/friends – it really is a case of many hands make light work.
I look forwards to hearing from you, and seeing you on 1 and 2 April.
