CORSCOMBE PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

 

Come and join in celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee at one or all of the following events.

THURSDAY JUNE 2

Unveiling of the Royal Scarecrows

FRIDAY JUNE 3

 Planting of Jubilee Tree at 10:00 am at the Corscombe Playground

Civic service at St Marys Corscombe at 11:00 am to commemorate the Queens service to the nation – followed by refreshments

SATURDAY JUNE 4

Jubilee Big Breakfast 9.00 to 11.00 am including a glass of bucks fizz

SUNDAY JUNE 5

 Village picnic from 12.30 on the grass area at the village hall. Bring your own food, picnic rugs/seats.  Bar provided.  Restricted parking.  See website for details

There will also be a Platinum Jubilee pudding/cake competition for all. Please submit entries before12:45 hrs at the village hall.  Judging will take place at 1:00 pm.  Entries available for tasting by all from 1:45 pm

The competition will be judged by Mark Hix and the first prize is a meal for two at the Fox Inn, with a separate prize for children’s entries

Games from 2:30 pm and Village Photo at 3:00pm.  Closes at 4:00 pm

About Corscombe

Corscombe is a small village in West Dorset of some five thousand acres that has a population of around 450 people and according to the last census in 2011 a total of 207 houses.

Corscombe village sits on very high ground and a mile from Toller Down which is one of the highest hills in Dorset.

It is designated as area of outstanding natural beauty.
