Katharine Singleton – Smith Memorial Bench

Katharine Singleton – Smith Memorial Bench

The bench commissioned by the Parish Council to remember their  dear friend and colleague is now in situ at the junction of Ocean Hill and Common Lane. This is part of the walk she loved and the spot she liked to stop at.

Daniel and friends gathered on Sunday to remember and  raise a toast to Katharine .

May this spot provide rest and inspire serenity and joy to many as it did for Katharine. Carpe diem.

An additional £124.20 raised in Katharine’s name through donations in the Halstock shop is being gifted in her memory to Sticklands primary school, where she was an active and caring governor for many years.

Sticklands will use the money raised to purchase new books for the library, will be planting a tree to remember Katharine and a plaque will be placed in the library.
